Are You Ready?

Following the end of World War One and in the wake of celebrating our soldiers return – New Zealand was confronted with the most lethal disease outbreak we have ever seen, an estimated 9000 New Zealanders died in two months and the countries lives turned upside down. ‘Black November 1918’ delves into the homes and lives of ordinary Wellingtonians affected by the flu and asks the question if history were to repeat itself, would you be prepared?

Over a two week season, the 300 level theatre students of Victoria University present the pandemic for what it was, unexpected, pervasive and a story about community.
